To increase sales, instead of displaying banners or ads on your website, write a review. On your main page, display a short intriguing paragraph with a link to your full review. For example, this is the text that was displayed on the main page of one of my websites, which was a lead in to the main review of “Make Your Site Sell.”

Review: Make Your Site Sell

By Ken Evoy, MD

PDF Electronic Book,

GoodBytes Information Products, Inc.

There are many marketing books available online but none, that I know of, that takes you step by step and goes into such explicit detail as Ken Evoy’s, “Make Your Site Sell.” Evoy, a marketing guru, has done his homework. After developing a computer software program designed to generate more high-potential stock candidates, Evoy realized the Internet was the ultimate high-density marketplace.

Although he had originally created the software to help himself, he decided that if his software was of interest to him, it would be of interest to others as well. So he decided to market it.

He knew that his PennyGold software wasn’t going to be easy to sell. So before he began designing his web site, he spent countless hours reading books on copywriting, writing direct response letters and web marketing. He surfed through countless commercial web sites looking for the strongest common elements that worked. He tried just about everything that looked or sounded reasonable. He kept what worked and ditched the rest.

After two years of trial and error, he developed a tight battlefield-system that works. He increased his PennyGold sales by tenfold. The current price is $587 (Canadian) with no trial download. He’s done all his testing on a very difficult product to sell.

Evoy begins by explaining what he refers to as “The big three to succeed on the web.”

1) Develop a great product

2) Write a web site that sells with deadly effectiveness

3) Attract targeted customers to the site

He goes on to say that if you succeed at all three, your web business has to succeed. Period.

He recommends that you begin by determining your “Most Wanted Response.” (MWR) Decide what response are you trying to achieve, whether it be to make a sale, get a lead or whatever response you’re looking for. Once you have determined your MWR for a product, you can design that part of your site to achieve it.

A good MWR is:

1. Reasonable

2. Measurable

3. Must be a good fit for your customer

4. It must qualify your visitor

Evoy goes into great detail for designing your product’s opening page, creating a pathway

and the closer page all specifically designed to reach your MWR.

He then explains the power of written word. It will make or break your effort to persuade your visitor. The right words will turn your visitor into your customer. He advises to use strong, active, emotion-charged words to captivate your visitors.

He goes into great detail on writing powerful ad copy, headlines that hit by identifying your products benefits and using strong active verbs to create powerful headlines with emotional impact. He stresses the importance of using verifiable testimonials and providing generous guarantees to build customer trust.

This book is jammed packed with valuable information. It’s captivating, enlightening and even a bit surprising at times. Evoy definitely over delivers.

He explains his entire marketing plan in explicit, easy to read detail, and has a very unique system designed to make the sale. When you purchase his book (800+ pages), you’ll also receive two free valuable smaller books, as well. “Building Targeted Traffic” and “It All Starts with the Product.” He stresses the importance of selecting the “ideal” Internet product with tips for selecting the best sales price.

As a direct result of reading, “Make Your Site Sell,” I have been reevaluating my own marketing techniques and site design. This is definitely a “Must Read.” The price is very reasonable. You can download this ebook formatted in PDF with both of the free gifts for only $17 USD or $24 Canadian. It comes with a complete money back guarantee. If you follow his techniques, it will quickly pay for itself.

Write your review like an outline of the product. Pack it with all the benefits the product has to offer and provide your personal endorsement. Keep in mind, you don’t want it to sound like a sales letter.

Once you’ve gained your potential customers trust, your personal recommendation will carry a lot of weight. Make sure you only recommend a product that you have actually reviewed and truly believe in.

If you don’t have a website, but publish a newsletter or ezine, you can compact your review into an article and achieve the same results.

By writing a professional sounding review with your personal recommendation and ditching your banners and ads, you will increase your sales immensely.

Designing a web site is hard enough. You spend countless hours working on how it is going to look and what cool specials effects it is going to have. You even spent hours picking out your site colors. So now what?

Now you have to promote it. But how? There are many ways. You can submit them to search engines, join a pay per click advertising program and link exchanges. Of these link exchanges are the ones most picked, mainly because they are free. But do they work.

According to the emails that keep coming into my inbox, link exchange is dead. The big search engines know what they are about. Back scratching. You link to me and I will link to you. It does not help your SEO or your quest to be #1 on Google or Yahoo. But it does give you awareness to the people you exchanged links to. And this can be

helpful.

I believe there is no one way to get your site ranked number one with anyone. But I do think if you plan your strategy correctly and use all of the tools available to you, you can get what you are looking for. You designed your site and you know what your audience is looking for. You may even know where your audience is.

So just because you hear certain marketing methods are dead, don’t give up hope and sell your domain name. Use the normal process to get ranked among the big boys and use you link exchanges for awareness to you targeted audience.

Engaging in pay-per-click (PPC) advertising has its own benefits and drawbacks. But what exactly is PPC advertising and what it can do to your business?

Business nowadays is doing different kinds of austerity measures when it comes to advertising their products and services. This is because of high rates of placing ads on print and on television. But there is a fast growing approach that businessmen can utilize to bring their services closer to the people and that is through Internet Marketing.

One tool that is causing internet marketing popularity is PPC advertising. This is a technique used in search engine marketing that requires one to pay a fee every time someone clicks an ad on your website. Usually this placement is done through a bidding process. If you are a top bidder for your keywords/phrases, you are sure to be on the number one spot on all search engines. Just be sure of the effectiveness of your ad copy to get the most number of clicks you need for your business.

Here are the benefits of PPC advertising are:

1. You need not be a genius in computer and technology to be able to run this ad campaign.

2. Immediate results are seen after a few days.

3. No need to make a website conform to the SEO rules.

4. Nothing to lose even if you do not top the pages of different search engines. You can still always choose PPC advertising.

5. You can make use any search engine available.

6. You can type in any keyword you like.

Cons of PPC advertising includes:

1. Fixed payments every month to the search engine you choose.

2. Pay for each click received by your website. At times, visitors are just competitors or people playing pranks on search engines. This hassle wastes money you put in to this advertising.

3. Inability to pay for the fees next month would mean removal of your website on the paid listings.

4. This advertising can only be used temporarily because it is difficult to handle in the long run.

5. Pay-per-click pricing can be costly for long periods of time, therefore, this should be stopped after an ad campaign.

But how exactly PPC advertising can increase traffic, leads and sales?

PRE-QUALIFIED TRAFFIC. All visitors of your website are already considered as a qualified consumer or buyer of your product. PPC advertising leads your customers to you for a lesser cost.

INSTANT EXPOSURE, IMMEDIATE PROFITS. PPC search engines enable you to get your desired results fast. They will have your website live within just a few hours which means immediate increase in sale.

CONSISTENT TOP LISTINGS. This is to get your website on top of the sponsored search results for free. You just have to choose the keywords related to your site and business and place

them within your web pages. After this, you are done.

PPC advertising enables advertisers to control their advertising campaigns. Advertisers have effectively targeted their audience and set their own price per click. PPC advertising networks provide the platform to identify the desired audience by geographic setting, topic and industry. These networks have a list of websites of the publishers where the ads will be placed.

Tools are provided by the networks to check how the pay per click limit is working for a certain advertiser. If its still competitive, would it be even listed among the paid search lists or does it generate sales? Of course, if the advertiser made the highest bid, the better chances the ad will be seen in the search engine. These networks too provide protection for the advertisers against click fraud. This advertising set-up allows advertisers to set a daily budget for his ads, thus, less spending for unnecessary clicks. Advertiser will never go over his budget.

In PPC advertising, what are important are the keywords and phrases. You have to select at least ten “very specific” keywords that would give you the best traffic in the search. Then, write the ad creatively but straightforward. Tell the truth about your product or service and do not lie. Good thing if your product or service will not disappoint those that are relying on your ad’s promise – but what if it did otherwise? Important too is the clarity of the ad. Do not use very vague languages. Include important details like the price.

You should also remember to budget your bids. Do not go overbidding because you will only lose your money and do not go so low that your ads will never get the chance to show up. Check your profit against your spending. If you see no progress then most likely you have to drop your ad campaign.

More and more advertisers have been using PPC advertising and it will continue to grow faster than any online advertising techniques. From revenues of $2.6 billion in 2004 to $5.5 billion in 2009, cost per click will dramatically go up as well from $0.29 to $0.36.

PPC advertising is new in online marketing and it is going to continue in the years to come. For advertisers, this means increase revenues with fewer advertising expenses, savings, more sales, good return of investment (ROI) and effective ad campaigns in the days to come.

So you have a website up and running. But you won’t be selling anything if the crowds don’t come. How do you get the crowds to come by your website without paid advertising?

Try running a contest!

Besides helping you promote your business, running a contest enables you to collect details about your prospects! After all, those who participate in the contest must somehow be interested in your prizes, right?

Organising a contest is an indirect way to get more information about your prospects. Once you have their emails in hand, you can contact them when you have promotions, discounts, giveaways, freebies and goodies directly.

Yes, running a contest is one of the many ways you can draw the crowd, especially if you offer your products as contest prizes. But what if you don’t have any products to offer as prizes? No problem! If you run a consultancy, offer your services as the prize. Yet, if you feel that you need to offer something tangible, you could try partnering with other businesses to offer prizes related to your business.

To run a successful contest, here are five important things to remember.

1. What’s In It For Me?

Those who join your online contest are in it for one thing: self-interest. What benefit will they derive from joining your contest? Give them a can’t-say-no reason. This means offering them a contest prize that they simply cannot refuse. The key thing is: never give them a product that is mediocre or worthless. People are not stupid so do not take them for a ride by offering something that you, yourself would not use or buy. Think like your customer: does this prize get me excited if I win? If you can’t even get yourself hyped up about the prize, it’s time to re-think.

2. How Long Does It Run?

Next, determine the duration of the contest. Some run for a month, some run for three. The disadvantages of running a contest longer than a month is that participants’ attention will falter and soon, your contest may be forgotten. A shorter duration may be a good bet sometimes. Again, this depends on how confident you are of your prize and how much attention you’ll expect it’ll garner.

3. Brainstorm For Ideas

Now that you have the prize and duration settled, think about how to present your contest. What type are you looking at? Now’s a good time to brainstorm and decide how simple or complicated you want it to be. Do

you want your participants to write a slogan? Do you want your participants to hunt for some information on your website? Again, as the organiser, it’s your call. Based on our experience, give something in between – not too complex to stump them and drive them off, nor something too easy that insults their intelligence.

4. Design The Contest

Finally, it is time to put the contest to work by designing the necessary web pages and forms (if applicable). How do you want the participants to send their entries in? By email? Or do you need them to fill up a form on your website? Before your contest goes live online, get family members or friends to test out the contest and weed out problems, if any.

Another important tip is to also include a page which sets out the rules and regulations of the contest (you don’t want disgruntled participants, do you?). Be sure you tell them when the contest results will be posted online at your website. Most contest organisers will post contest results on their website as well as send an email to the winners, informing them.

5. Promote It Everywhere

Once the contest is ready, it is time to promote the contest to everyone you know. Naturally, the first place to do so would be on your website. Next, promote it on other websites, on newsgroups, wherever you can stick the contest announcement.

Don’t think only in terms of online promotion. You’d be surprised that offline promotion works too.

At the same time, don’t leave out your existing customers either. Send them an email announcing the contest. Tell them to send or refer the contest to friends and families, especially since you know they’ve bought from you and they know your products well (that is, if you are offering your own product).

The key to any successful online contest is to keep promoting it, even until the deadline itself.

Now that you know how to run a contest, go on, get one organised! It takes some work and needs some creative thinking but it’s fun and helps you promote your business in the most innovative way!

Are you regularly updating your company letterheads? If not, then you are in big trouble. It is always a good practice to invest in letterhead printing every so often so that your paperwork will always look new and up to date. If you do not do this on a regular basis your paperwork (and hence your company as well) will look old and uncompetitive. As a small guide to you, below are a few suggestions of when you should update your letterheads.

Regular Annual updates

Of course, as a standard practice, you should have regular annual updates for your letterheads. A yearly update is a great way to just keep your letterhead designs in line with the prevailing views and tastes at the time. Culture and the business environment can change quickly and a yearly update is a good way to organize your update schedule to adapt to those changes.

Contact information changes

Besides a regular schedule, you can also set a rule for yourself to invest in a new batch of letterhead printing if important contact information changes. For example, if the email address of the company or its website URL changes, it is always important to update all materials with contact information including of course your letterheads. Doing this thing lessens the chances of people mistakenly contacting the old details letting you lose business opportunities.

Logo change and improvement

Also, it is always inevitable that design changes in the company motif or logo can happen. When this does occur, do not forget to update your letterheads as well. You do not want

to continue printing the old logo since the new logo might be part of a whole new revamp of the company image. The logo is very important since it is how your company is identified. It carries with it the pride and respect of the company so it is always a must to have the newest and improved rendition of it printed in your letterheads.

Printing opportunities

Of course, you can also take advantage of printing letterheads when there are certain opportunities. Some printing companies out there may offer sudden discounts in printing especially when they have only a few orders for a significantly long duration. When this happens do not be afraid to swoop in to print your letterheads. Even though you may have several stocks of notepads left, buying those cheap notepads now is a nice investment since you will buy those things anyway. Why not get them now at a discount right?

Public relation issues

Finally, if you had a big public relations incident where the reputation of your company has been tarnished, it might be a good idea to change the letterhead design so that people would not be immediately turned off by what it represents. Business is all about image, so if you lose that image, you must mitigate the effects if you can by adjusting your logo and letterheads so that they still look respectable and responsible.

So keep those situations in mind. They are a great guide on the proper timing of letterhead updates.

The commercial industry is getting to be saturated by the minute. This means that there is an oversupply of businesses and very few takers. With the current recession, people are generally decreasing their spending activities that there is not much selling going on. With fewer customers and increasing number of products and services flooding the market, you have to be more competitive than the usual in order for you to get ahead in the game.

All of these things mean one thing – you need to be resourceful when it comes to making a sale and earning profits despite the competition. With effective marketing, you can have your means to stand out from the rest.

As a marketer, you know for a fact that just about anyone and everyone can offer the same thing that you are offering. And despite the difference in brand and models, almost all competing items are the same. In addition to the fact that what you can do, your competition also has the capability to offer the same thing. For example, if you are looking at full color poster printing to promote your business, your competition would have used custom poster printing one time or another. If you are thinking of giving more benefits, your competition could have thought about it too. So what can you do to stand out? More than the features and descriptions, you can generate leads than your competition when you present your products

and services based on how your target clients perceive them to be.

Your target clients will choose depending on the presentation of the offer. When you market your business, your target clients would want to see that you are able to provide them with something that nobody has yet to provide them with before. One way to do this is to give them a distinct quality in your offer. This is like giving a unique angle to your story. Choosing your angle depends on what your particular target market wants, not what you would like it to be. Your job then is to find that particular angle that would be of interest to your audience.

Another way of effectively marketing your business is to present yourself as an expert in your industry. Your target clients should feel that they are dealing with someone who knows the ins and outs of the business you are in. They would rely and trust you more if they believe that you know what you are talking about.

The bottom line to effective marketing is in the packaging. When you present your business to your target market, the way you do it depends on how they perceive you and your worth. Make sure that you convey your value to your target market and they will definitely deal with you as often as you want.

If you have a web site that’s not pulling in prospects and sales, I have a marketing secret to share with you. Your sales and profits will increase as soon as you apply it. Whether you’re marketing on the web, in print or in person, you are guaranteed to improve your web site marketing and make more sales.

Here it is; people buy from you when you give them what they want. Sounds obvious, but most people don’t apply this secret to their online and offline marketing.

Many people think that the quickest way to improve their web site marketing and increase sales is to convince or ‘sell’ more prospects. Trying to convince people to buy your products and services is hard, not much fun and rarely works. In fact, this approach repels the majority of people who may actually want the products and services you provide.

Your prospects are like you; they want and need to buy services and products, but hardly anyone wants to ‘be sold’. When a prospect reads your brochure or visits your web site, they are thinking about their needs and desires. Once you focus your marketing on giving your prospects what they want, you’ll see a leap in responses and in sales.

Think about your products and services. Why do people want them? What’s the first and most important concern your prospects have? What are their secondary concerns? Can you help them solve each of these problems and get what they want?

Look at your ads, brochures, or website. Ask yourself the same questions prospects ask themselves when they view your web site marketing materials;

- What is in it for me?

- Does the first sentence give me a reason to keep reading?

- Does the photo make me

believe this firm has what I want?

What is the most prominent element on the home page of your web site or the cover of your brochure? In most cases, it will be your company’s name. Does your company name describe your prospects’ biggest concern? Does it give them a reason to believe you have what they want?

Imagine you wanted to open a new bank account in your hometown. On Main Street you see two banks with large signs in the windows.

Bank A’s sign says – AMERICA’S FINEST SINCE 1950

Bank B’s sign says – HIGH YIELD SAVINGS, IMMEDIATE ONLINE ACCESS

Which one would you choose? Bank B grabs your attention by talking about the services and results that meet your needs. They’ve made the sale.

There are dozens of reasons people buy. You may hire a business coach to help you make more money, a personal trainer to become a better golfer or tennis player. You may buy a new computer to increase your company’s productivity or a high definition TV to give yourself greater viewing enjoyment. Identify the reasons people buy your products and services and it’s like finding the key to sales.

What’s the biggest secret to attracting all the clients you want?

Stop trying to convince your prospects to buy and instead focus on giving them what they want. Once they see you as helping them, they’ll help you by buying your products and services.

Do you plan on writing for custom brochures? Writing in a style appropriate for brochure printing has a few tricks to it especially with its process. Brochure printing is not like printing booklets where you can just publish chapter after chapter of your information. In writing for brochures you have to have a plan to present your content in a short but effective manner that can achieve the goals of the brochure. To help you out in achieving this for your brochure content, we have five tips for you to follow.

1. List out your objectives.

One of the initial things that you must do when you start writing for a brochure is to list down your objectives. This is very important since this will give you the direction you need in composing your text. Do this by listing down the information that you want people to understand. Of course, if you want your readers to be entertained, or be impressed, you should list down these things as objectives as well. Try also to list down business objectives such as generating results like increased sales, or even increased visitations to your shop or to your website. By defining objectives like this, you should be able to organize your content draft better by emphasizing the material that can be used to achieve your objectives.

2. Make an outline of your content.

With your objectives set, you should also try to form an outline of your content. An outline should be a good guide on the whole flow of your concepts and arguments. Write your outline in such a way that

they should eventually lead to the achievement of objectives as the outline items get deeper and longer. Never skip this step since this will save you a lot of time in writing your brochure content.

3. Know the right buzzwords.

Also do not forget to know the right terms and buzzwords of your brochure content. Using buzzwords are a great idea to effectively convey your message since you would not need to define certain terms periodically. The buzzword should be all you need. Also industry veterans should appreciate familiar terms since it makes understanding the brochure a little bit easier.

4. Establish your credibility.

Of course it is also important to establish the credibility and reliability of the content you are placing in your brochure. So do not forget to present any kind of data or information when possible or at least site the sources of your information if you can. This makes your content more believable and hence your brochure should be considered more credible as well.

5. Adapt your style.

Lastly, do not forget to adapt your style to the audience. Year after year, people’s tastes change so it is important to adapt your brochure style to those changes as well. Do not be trapped into the reprinting habit in brochure printing where you basically produce the same thing last year. Always try to adapt your message to current popular styles so that your readers can relate to you better.

Hopefully these tips can help you a lot in starting out with writing your brochures.

Need some quick design tips for poster printing during the holidays? Well, making a color poster more festive is really easy. I have here four very simple tips that should make your own color poster printing quite nice. All you need is a good image editing application like Adobe Photoshop to do it. Let us start first with your background.

The festive background.

Take any of your past posters, and add in a festive background and you already have a good working full color poster for the holidays. You can do this simply by changing your background layer to a more festive image or texture. You can try switching it to a more festive color such as red or green, or you can add in a texture or material image such as a “gift wrap” picture. It is also good to change the background with watermarked festive symbols such as snowflakes, Christmas Trees, festive decorations etc.

Once you have the background all festive, your job is more or less done. Just see if the background makes your main poster images come out and that they do not clash. Otherwise you’ll have a nice refurbished poster that is festive and ready for the holidays.

Holiday borders.

If you have borders around your poster printing, you can try exploiting this feature to make your design more festive. Adding holiday borders to your poster border is a great and simple way to make things festive. Those trailing plants with Christmas decorations are always nice to put around any kind of poster really. Other symbols of the yuletide

season should also be great as long as they go around quite beautifully in the poster. This is a simple but fairly effective technique to make the whole poster design quite with the season.

Yuletide fonts.

If you have big text in your poster design, the simplest thing to do to make things more festive is to just change the font to a more “merry font”. Yes! There are a lot of holiday fonts available for free download over the Internet. Just a quick search at a search engine and you will have plenty of font design styles to choose from. Change your text to these more festive fonts and people will immediately understand that you have a holiday poster indeed. So if your design can really adopt a festive font, why not download and use one.

Holiday centerpiece.

Finally, nothing says “Christmas” or “The holidays” than a nice holiday centerpiece in the center area of the poster. A Christmas tree, a big gift, a wreath, mistletoe and many other obvious symbols of the holidays can be ideal. Just adding one centerpiece like this is in fact enough for a whole holiday design change really. So it is very simple and easy to do in terms of design. Almost everyone can do this quite well.

As you can see, these are very easy suggestions and almost anyone with a fair interest in design from novices to experts can do this. You can try this on your own poster printing if you want to.

Directory submission or submission of article in article directories is the traditional White Hat technique to get noticed by the search engines as well as to generate quality traffic. There are several factors that search engines use to determine a site’s rank for certain key or search words. One of these includes incoming links to the site. The page rank of a site is somewhat related to the number of inward links it has.

Why should submit to directories?

Directory submission helps to generate inbound links to your site from the related category. Thus the overall link popularity of your site will increase depending on the number of submission you made.

One way links and search engine rankings have a great cause and effect relationship. Think of it as a business referral system. The business with the more referrals is most popular and hence, search engines rank them higher. The reason behind it, as many put it, is that the more links you have, higher are the chances of a visitor coming to your site through these links!

Again, the search engines send out spiders to the links they find in the directory pages. This will bring the search engine spiders to your site and will get your site pages added to the search engines indexes automatically.

In future, the new search engines will also follow the same procedure. Hence, you will not have to register to them, rather they will find you themselves!

You can also improve your sales!

Again, many people actually do surf these directories to look for the things they want. So they will also act as a medium to bring in your prospective customer to your site.

Thus directory submission

has three major benefits, which makes it indispensable tool of online marketing.

1. Higher Position In The Search Engine Results

2. Web Site Indexed

3. Click Through Traffic

So that is something one should focus on if they are interested in increasing the rankings and traffic of their site.

Why choose us?

You must have heard about all those “too-good-to-true” claims, promising to submit your website to hundreds of thousands of directories within days, that too at attractive prices.

Of course, the concept sounds great, especially for new websites just starting out. But, there’s one BIG reason why they usually don’t work.

You see, nearly all of those sites you get submitted to are a complete waste of time (as they don’t research the sites and never update them) — and only when you shell out big bucks, do you find-out that they were actually a waste of money!

But we at Submit2Please have done an extensive search backed by professional knowledge and have gathered a large, comprehensive & fully updated database of Search Engine Optimization Friendly directories, to which we hand submit your site. Again, all the information we provide, exactly fit their requirement. Hence the chance of our submission being rejected is almost Nil.

Thus, after you avail our website directory submission services to list your website, you will quickly realize an increase in traffic from theses directories and an improvement in your rankings with the search engines as well as!
